Then I ask him do he need any assist.help him out of bed help with getting dress wash face give bath oral hygiene prepare breakfast prepare lunch prepare dinner.and make sur dish are wash and put away and wash clothes and take out the trash and make show the home is clean before I leave and tell him have a good day.

Hello, my name is Joy Arthur. Caring for others have always been my passion. I've worked as a caregiver since 2016. It wasn't until 2018 when I obtained my CNA certification. Before covid I did community service at local nursing homes and funeral home. I enjoy being an assist to all mankind. Knowing that I made a difference in someone life makes my heart smile.. I like being more hands on depending on the setting/facility.

I was attracted to caregiving whenever my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and began to require home health services to keep her independence. This lead me to work for about 2 years as a CNA and take CNA classes within one of the facilities I worked at. I built connections and trust with my residents by treating them with compassion, patience, and by taking time to care for them fully. I took pride in the fact that all my residents smiled at me when I walked through their door because they knew I would take good care of them. I enjoy spending time with the people I care for. I ask them questions about their life and listen to their stories as I do my tasks. This helps to break the ice and help me get to know them as a person. I have also worked with many residents with a variety of different health issues such as dementia, bed bound patients, hospice patients, and patients with various mental illnesses . I have learned how to adapt my care strategies to each individual I work with to optimize the quality care I can provide. I take special care ensure my residents feel comfortable, secure, and in control of their situations.

I am a compassionate, caring, dedicated empathic with a big heart who just loves helping those in need. Care giving to me cones second nature. Perhaps bc it started at an early age in my teens and has continued throughout my adult life. My passion to help others also influenced the field I chose to study in college and to no surprise to myself it was a human services field I chose to study in college and today have a bachelors degree in that field which is Social Work. Perhaps my degree led me back to care giving . but it was a long way from my first care giving experience. I was 15 yes old and had a grandfather who had severe emphysema. He struggled for every breathe despite the oxygen he wore and just could not even complete some of the smallest of task. Of course at 13, I didn't care for his personal care needs but I saved that man a many of steps. I was his legs and learned quickly how to help with outside tasks (I called it work) from changing lawnmower blades to mowing, to feeding and caring for the farm animals. I know he never ran out of busy work and he got lots of entertainment teaching and watching me grow up. But two things I will never forget that I done nearly everyday was make him coffee and rub his feet with lotion which was his favorite. Perhaps I didn't know that post college I would land a job in my field working with people, from ages 3 to the elderly 80 yr. old lady that required a caregiver to live in there home by themselves or with family. They were either physically or mentally which needed care either BC of a physical disability or the elderly just bc at that age he/she needed help to stay in there home. The aging process whether it be physical or mental decline caused them to need help with everyday basic needs they once did independently. I evaluated each patient and wrpte their individualneeds, and wrote their care plan individual to that patients

I have written books , I started being a caregiver to my grandparents at 17yrs of age and it is now my first love . It makes me feel good to know that I can make a difference and be a help to those in need .

Due to living with my grandparents i have some experience in caregiving. I find it most enjoyable to listen to the stories they tell me about the things they experienced throughout their lives. I am proud that I'm able to learn from others experience, in helping me with making hard decisions in my life.
