I have worked in nursing homes and private homes since I was 18. To me it's a calling not just a job. I personally like private care more because it's more one on one care and you are able to provide more of what they need. The sweet lady I was just with for 3 years recently passed. She was my best friend. I worked at least 120 hours a week for her. The enjoyment she gave my life can never be described. And I just hope to find someone I can help as much as I did her. She had a stroke 6 years age and was paralyzed. I stayed with her usually Wednesday through Monday. Dressed her, gave her showers, fed her, did medications , housework among other things
