What makes a great caregiver is that I am always smiling, happy, kind, considerate, passionate, and MOST IMPORTANTLY I am patient. I became a caregiver because i just simply enjoy assisting elderly people. Something i like about being a caregiver is giving the residents an uplifting spirit whenever they are feeling depressed or lonely. Keeping a smile on their faces will not only help them feel better but it will also help me feel better on the inside. Just knowing that they can have a friend to talk to and be there for them warms my heart. A personal achievement i am proud of is being able to get residents up out of bed and active. Rather its a few workouts in the living room, a walk down the hallway, or even if its just sitting outside enjoying the breeze and fresh air.
