I wanted to get into nursing school and decided to take a certified nursing assistance and Homes Health Aide course with the red cross so I could get a fill of the work before I made a commitment. After I completed the course I got a CNA placement at a hospital and a part-time placement as a home health aide. Even though I gained a lot of valuable experience as a CNA I got the most satisfaction from my work as a care giver for the elderly. The one on one interaction and helping the most vulnerable lead a satisfactory life is very fulfilling, it is what I would want for my aging parent. Care giving allows you to meet clients that teach you so much about what they have gone through and passed through. Most of them inspire me to be a better person everyday, their compassion and friendships are a value to my life. One of my achievements is to be able to care for those that need help and provide them with the day to day companionship and to see a smile on a clients face always lifts my spirit. I am a mother of two teenagers, currently looking for full time work as a caregiver. I hope to start my nursing degree in the near future. I am a fluent French speaker, love to cook and currently work with a Boston hospital. I have an even temperament and approach my work with compassion and empathy. I believe every human being deserves to be treated with dignity and compassion especially our aging parents.
