I have always enjoyed working with elders and being of assistance and service to them. I love the richness I experience learning their stories and the sense of purpose and well being I experience while caring for them. The work I do is truly from the heart and I thank Creator every day for the opportunity of service. For four years I have been working as a CNA/Caregiver largely for hospice clients; families providing personal and basic medical care for these patients. I take vital statistics of patients, including blood pressure and pulse, set up medical equipment and may assist nurses in performing certain procedures such as inserting an IV in a patient's vein. Personal care activities of daily living include assistance with preparing meals, going on errands, getting to and from Dr. appointments, going on walks, medication reminders, light housekeeping and personal care such as assistance with bathing as well as taking vital signs. What I offer that is truly unique is deep compassion, understanding and heart through the dying process with clients, their family and friends. I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to provide this service. Again, it never fails to be rich and rewarding.
