I strive to treat every client like family, with dignity and respect as if they were my own loved one. I like to joke around when appropriate to keep things upbeat. I'm very interested in people and their history and enjoy listening to the stories clients tell. I decided to become a caregiver as part of my plan to accumulate experience that could help me as a nurse and find the work very rewarding. I am physically able to help most clients with transfers, able to perform light housework and I'm pretty handy.
I love making a different in the lives of others. After caring for my father for five years in Africa, I realized this is a profession that I'm good at and passionate about. When working with my father, I developed patience and empathy, and also have been working as a caregiver for about 5 years with a lot of experience. In the event of an emergency, I would recall the training I have learned and immediately follow the standard protocol and call 9-1-1 if needed. I have active CPR certification, so I feel confident performing that, If required
