What makes me a great caregiver is my empathy and my compassion at the person am caring for know that I really care and I will do what it takes to help them. My first caregiver job was my mum who had stroke, I take care of her for 3 years and I had chance to go to London. That's where I started the real caregiver job. At London I became a child sitter , although I love what I did but it didn't bring me as much as caring for the elderly. Years down the line a job fell in my lap at a home care. I must say working there was inspirational not only did it open my eyes to the w old but it gave me the opportunity to help those who couldn't help themselves. This is what prompted me to further my education in care giving by attending CNA classes when I move to USA. I became CNA and started working at a nursing home. Which is Hebrew home of Greater wasshington in Rockville. I have been working with different people, including hospitals and hospice, agency and private duties. Being a caregiver is such an honor. It's all about putting away your needs to assist others. Knowing that a smile on your face can bring a joy and happiness to someone else is priceless. The moment when you can reflect back and helped someone is what care giving is all about. The personal achievement am proud of is: I always overcome fear by completing something I am frightened of.
