I provided senior care at her home.I assisted her with ADL'S.; that life has to offer. I bathed her and dressed her and I helped to feed her. I also assisted her to the bathroom and also exercises to help to keep her mobile. We talked with each other. We would watch T.V. together, we talked to each other as to what we were watching on T.V. We read magazines together. We took frequent walks thru-out her home as to; help in keeping her mobile and strong. I did ( 2 ) 24 hour shifts with her on individual days in a single week.

I am Geriatric nursing assistant with two and a half years of nursing experience. I also have ten years of Nursing experience as an RN in Ghana before relocating to the USA in 2016. I am very professional, diligent and above all have empathy for the people I care for. I have passion for the work I do. It has always been my dream to care for the sick and put smiles on their faces hence my reason for becoming a caregiver. My personal achievement I have been proud of is assisting a client with ADL , and then gradually the client became independent in performing her ADLs, and this brought joy to both me and the client because initially she could do only 25% . And as a caregiver I felt proud of that.

I became a caregiver because I believe it is in my nature and I am compassionate about helping others. I like being a caregiver because no matter how hard I may work or how my day is going, it doesn't feel like work. I would like to help others by doing what I like. I am a mother of four, very energetic and friendly. I recently left my position full time for a major dialysis company in downtown Baltimore and have been in healthcare for a while and started working for Catholic Charities in May 2017, part time on the weekends. I am hoping to start nursing school fall 2017 and would prefer to work overnight Monday thru Wednesday or Thursday but I have open availability and flexibility with my schedule. My personal achievements that I'm honestly most proud of are my children. I am a Certified Nursing Assitant and Cettified Medication Technician through the Maryland Board of Nursing. I am also CPR and First Aid certified.
