I became a caregiver to help the elderly . I like most being a caregiver is putting a smile on a face. My personal achievement is making someone day worth looking forward to the next day.Having a client who didn't talk much all of a sudden become a talker. I am 43 years old. I have been working in the caregiver field working with adults and children over 10 years. Ensuring the patient's highest level of well being at all times while under your care Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) -- hygiene, dressing, eating, etc. Light housekeeping such as changing linens, laundry, dusting, vacuuming and taking out garbage Planning and/or preparing meals Running errands and transporting patients to appointments, etc. Monitoring vital signs Assisting with medication reminders, dispensation and documenting their use when updating health charts. Helping patients participate in moderate or light exercise as recommended by their physician Promoting mental engagement through companionship, brain games or memory books Keeping daily care notes to inform families, agencies and medical providers of any significant changes in behavior or condition.

1) I became a Caregiver because the well being of others concern me. 2) Being a Caregiver gives me the opportunity to help those in need and build never forgetting relationships. I have build strong relationships with all of my past patients and hope to make more. I also love the feeling of knowing that I am needed to help better someones life. 3) One personal achievement that I am proud of was being able to effectively change a particular patients life around. When I first met this particular patient he was a diabetic with high blood pressure, dementia and other illnesses. He was a non active, detached individual who didn't speak much. After working him for a couple of months he changed completely. He was then full of life, and didn't need his insulin and blood pressure pills anymore. From this experience I felt like I've made an irreplaceable bond that'll never be forgotten. 4) I am a very hardworking person with a doggedly determined mindset. I make sure that all aspects of the job are done and that the patient and their family are content at the same time. I am also an understanding, flexible, loving and euphoric person that's strives for a happy work environment.
