I became a caregiver because I have always loved to be around elderly people; especially the helpless ones. I find it satisfying knowing that a resident is happy to have me around, and find in me a best friend. What the elderly people need the most at this time, is the lost friendship because at this age they rarely get to visit their old friend. They need someone to take them out to the museum, to the beauty salon, to the park, or anywhere it is appropriate to go. Since my mother unfortunately died at an early age, I committed myself to loving the elderly in return. I find great satisfaction when caring for any of residents. I enjoy giving the best of myself and making sure that my resident is happy, well taken care of. One of my residents with Parkinson disease, was severely sick with pneumonia and urinal track infection. She survived, and nobody was expecting her to overcome these sicknesses. with all the daily loving care I provided to that particular resident, she was able to completely recover from the pneumonia and the urinary track infection. Besides the medication she was receiving from her nurse, I daily reminded her that I was her friend, and that I was there to take good care of her. I daily made sure she got enough fluids in her body, and prepared good meals for her. I also prepared good medicinal teas made of honey, lemon juice, and ginger. With all the love, patience, great meals, fluids, and medications she received, she was able to make it after one mon
