My parents were both elderly and disabled and I took care of them from the age of 8 until 18 when they both passed away. I helped my Dad do everyday tasks like filling his air tanks because he needed to be on air due to his COPD. I also helped my mom with her diabetes by giving her shots, cleaning her wounds when she lost toes, and when she went on at-home kidney dialysis I helped do her dialysis. I am also majoring in social work and plan on working with elderly/ people with disabilities because I am passionate about it. I am willing to learn anything I need to do to help be a caregiver.
