About Julia

1) Why did I become a Caregiver because all my life I have always love helping other and it started with my owe family. I was the youngest of eleven children and I watch my nieces and my nephews. I was taught by my mother to treat people the way you want to be treated. 2) What do I like about being a Caregiver, being a Caregiver give me joy and a fulfillment that I can make someone life better and bring happiness. It is rewarding, that I want to show love by doing things that other s maybe cannot do for themselves. 3) What is a personal achievement I am proud of; this just happen within a couple of months ago when my mother was in a rehab center and my mother did not remember who I was as the time. She stated to me that god was going to bless me because I showed her love and I didn't know her. 4) I would like to introduce myself and to let you know, I am a Christian. I always treated people the way I want to be treated.. I have worked in healthcare for several years. My passion is tending to the patients mind, body and spirit, in other words to ensure that they thrive where ever they are. All my life I have always being a caregiver and a servant to other. I enjoy working with people and I most enjoy jobs where I have one-on-one interaction with others. I enjoyed taking care of my elder family members and would like to help others in this way. I like older adults and feel I can get along well with a variety of elders. I like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. I like doing a variety of tasks in a day. I don't ever say, "That's not my job" but instead like pitching in to do whatever is needed. I like making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. I take pride in attending to detail.

I became a Caregiver/Home Health Aid while caring for my grandmother who passed away. After she became ill - I cared for her, bathed her, changed her and her bedding, fed her, watched TV and read with her and cooked and cleaned for her. I enjoyed doing this and spending time with her knowing that she was getting the proper care. I have many skills I am a violist, a dancer, a bartender and I Home Health Aid. I enjoy all of these and what I enjoy most is getting to know the different people.
