About Nina

I have always been kind and caring. I love being a companion and taking care of people. I'm a pretty quiet girl and find enjoyment in the little things. I've always had a mothering nature. I'm attracted to the care giver job because I get to assist a person that has lived through so much and has seen so much more than I have. I respect that a lot. Although I do not have a lot of experience as a care giver, I am whole hardheartedly willing to learn and understand that it is a very serious and important job. I am always on time and put all my energy into my job. I am very patient as well. When I was in middle school, I taught my younger brother 4th grade because we were home schooled and that is one of my happiest achievements because I had to take care of him and help him a lot while I was also doing my own school work.

Key Team Leader

Jul 2016 - Present
Dunham's Sports
I began working this job part time while I was finishing high school. I would only work on the weekends and all the holidays and breaks during the school year. As I was ending high school, I worked 35 hours per week and was finishing exams. It was a lot of work, but I kept up with all the work and I made sure to give my 100%. When summer came, I became full time at Dunham's and became the apparel coordinator. I went from mostly being a cashier to working on the sale floor and in apparel. My jobs consists of running around the store helping customers, answering phone calls, arranging the apparel displays, putting out the apparel freight, working on stock balances, and doing PCM reports. I then became the Key Team Leader after proving myself capable of not only handling associates but also working as best as I could. I have always enjoyed working at Dunham's.

Barista

Nov 2017 - Present
Starbucks
I got this job because it is much closer to my home and has many great benefits and a decent pay. My goal in working here is to save money while I am working on finding a more successful job for me. Working here is incredibly challenging because the customers are very specific and can get easily upset. I have to work with ultimate speed in this job and keep a positive attitude. My tasks here are to run the drive through, take orders, make drinks, clean, and many others. I have learned some valuable lessons here especially about how to multitask and work with speed as well as under pressure. I just recently became a Barista trainer. This means that I will train any new people in our store.

Line Server

Jul 2017 - Oct 2017
Qdoba Mexican Grill
This job was so that I could make extra money on the side. I was a line server, meaning that I took orders from people and made their food as accurately and best as I could. I would always try to sell more, by asking if the customer would like to have extra meat for an additional $2. This is important because you should always try to make the customer spend more money so that the store can make more money. I also learned about sanitary procedures and learned how to manage my time well to get the restaurant clean as fast as I could so that I did not keep any customers waiting.

Cashier

May 2015 - Aug 2015
Mcdonald's
I was mostly a cashier at this job. I did not stay long because it was only a summer job while I was going to school. I had to take orders from people and learn the technology of putting the orders in so that my co-workers could make the food and serve it. Sometimes when it got busy, I would also help make food. I was often put in working the drive thru. This job involved good communication skills since many people had different accents and the technology sometimes made it even harder to hear people. I learned a lot in this job and made sure to clean and work hard every day I worked.

What makes me a great caregiver is how I treat people with the respect and love they deserve. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my mom, i watched other people take care of her so I wanted to give the same love back to others who are in need. What I mostly enjoy about being a caregiver is helping people. A personal achievement I am proud of is how many people I've helped in my lifetime with my caregiving career:)
