Companionship to me for the elderly is lots and lots of conversation! I find out what they like to do whether its going for a walk, reading, doing puzzles, watching television, etc. I realize they have good days and bad days, and we could decide for that day what he/she feels up to doing. They love to be pampered. Not rushed! I enjoy helping people. I have taken care of several of my family members dealing with all sorts of issues. I've also been a home caregiver, home mealth aide, and in an assisted living I have worked as a companion too. I am reliable, punctual, trustworthy, honest, and respectful. Some seniors just want someone to hang out with them because they are lonely. Some will require physical assistance with mobility, laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, walking their dog etc. Everyone wants to have their dignity respected, especially as they age or if they are ill. I can provide detailed doctor notes, help keep their calendar updated with tasks, keep an eye on if there are changing health issues and report to someone if there are changes. I enjoy providing this care because I love helping others especially the elderly. I provide my care as if I were taking care of my own family members. You can count on me.

I became a caregiver when i had lost my own Grandmother to a horrible debilitating disease. I seen who was there to care for her and what i felt the person should have done. The lack of decent care really turned me toward wanting to be everything someone needed in that special time of need. I enjoy when my clients families tell me that i have cared for their loved one as if they were my own family member. I take being a caregiver very seriously, i want to make sure i am relieving as much stress and worry from not only my clients but especially their family members. I love to allow my clients to be as independent as possible, always helping to reassure them im only there to lend a helping hand not to take over their life. I am a mother of 4 beautiful children, 2 almost grown and on their own and 2 elementary school aged, so needless to say i do not lack patience :).
