I am looking to be of assistance and earn extra income. I am looking for a job that will be a good fit over the next few years while I get use to the California weather. I am great with kids and have a lot of experience with them, so it was my joy to volunteer as a Teen Court Associate for 7 years, and work as a mentor and counselor for teens as well in the Division of Youth Program in Missouri. If you have errands I am available to run them. As for business skills, I have also been a co-owned in a trucking business, so I have many years of professional office experience. I can do all the household work, like mopping sweeping and vacuuming, cleaning putting away laundry, fixing bed changing linens and pressing or ironing all linens (some clothing), grocery shopping and cooking meals, serving or assistance with dinner. Other responsibilities could include watering plants and running errands when needed (drug store, dry cleaners, doctors appointments).
My name is Katie. I am 23 years old. I love being a care giver. I have lots of experience in taking care of elders. I have a 83 year old grandfather. I have been taking care of him for 5 years now. I cook, clean, give him a bath, go grocery shopping for him, wash, fold and put away his laundry, I give him his medicine and make sure he has everything he needs. What I enjoy most about being a care giver is helping my elders who need my help the most. Knowing they are taking care of puts a big smile on my face. My personal achievement that I am proud of is being there for my elders when they need me. Doesn't matter if it's friends or family. You can count on me.
I've worked with people of all diversities from school age to old age. I worked at Daybreak an adult daycare while my sons were little and enjoyed the adults that attended the day facility. I also drove them home each night and helped them into their homes. On Saturdays we would drive around and provide them lunch. Many of the older people at the facility were unable to cook. My mother is getting older and needing care so I've learned a lot.
I am a caring mother of two small children. I am very energetic and attentive. I have a big heart and have a passion for taking care of people in need! Making a difference in people's lives is an honor I got too achieve everyday being a certified nursing aide. I am very skilled in geriatric care.! I am proud of what my expertise is and where it is taking me in life but most of all I love being able too put a smile on someone's face!
I am compassionate, giving, and want to help those who have trouble helping themselves. I took care of my mom for four years and know how important it is for family members to be able trust those who are caring for their loved ones. I enjoy interacting with the people, listening to their stories and things they did in their lives, and playing games or doing puzzles with them. Being the caregiver that both family and clients like and they ask for me.
I became a caregiver much longer before I was 19 and it was considered"my job". Ive always loved taking care of people and making sure they were happy, content, and comfortable. I can be very social at times, which helps out weigh my shy and timid side. I treat my clients as if they were my own family, meaning they are treated with the best type of care, attitude, and respect just like id expect my family to be treated with in a similar situation. I always place myself in their shoes during certain situations to understand more on their level: like their mood swings, attitude changes, pain level, etc.
I enjoy helping others of all ages. I am an outgoing, compassionate, people person. I love to assist those who struggle to help themselves. I am raising an 8 year old son on my own, I am proud of that! I have a license in hair and nails, have managed a preschool, and worked in the warehouse @ Bass Pro Shops, been a caregiver for elderly and disabled, but my favorite thing is caring for others.

I have always enjoyed helping others and it is definitely my passion. I got may CNA in 2002. I have worked nursing homes, the VA, in home health care, and now as a support worker for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. This isn't just a job for me, it is truly my passion and it shows through my work ethic. I am easy to get along with and have a positive outlook on life.
To sum it all up I could use one word passion I've known since I was just a little girl that I was going to take care of sick people. When I was just about three or four I was asked what I wanted to do when I grow up , my answer ,I want to take care of sick people. I've been blessed with over 20 years in the medical field as a caregiver and that's what I will continue to pursue the rest of my life. One of my biggest accomplishments in life was getting my associate's degree in Medical science and Phlebotomy. I've been blessed to have worked with some wonderful Doctors and Nurses who have taught me alot. My patients are my family and i treat them as such.
As my mother developed Dementia I helped her adjust. It took humility and humor and I think it made me into a person I respected. After she passed away I became a professional caregiver because I loved the special bond that grows between the client and the caregiver. I see it as an honor to make the transition less uncomfortable for someone adjusting to losing their independence. I am not perfect but I do attempt, to the best of my ability to do things exactly as my client would want them done. I want the client and their family to trust that they can rely on me to keep things on an even keel. The family is often very shaken up by the prospect of hiring a caregiver and the client finds it difficult to have someone in their home so I really try to fit into their life quietly and efficiently. I am educated, well-spoken and have a good sense of humor. I like to play cards and craft and take long drives and go shopping and I am a good cook. I am happily careful to keep kosher or vegan or diabetic or heart healthy dietary guidelines. I stick to the care plan and I organize one if there isn't one. What I don't know I research. I am resourceful and I communicate. I have very good references.
