I became a caregiver due to the fact I am nurturing and kind.I always wanted to be a nurse. Due to life and children i postponed those dreams and decided becoming an cna was a step in the right direction. After working for a few years i realized that cnas are as essential in paitent care than any other medical personnel. I receive enjoyment from the paitents for being their comfort. Even though some may have memory loss they tend to recognize those who care for them. And knowing that i brought a smile to their faces is all worth the while. Providing them their dignity and ensuring that they are safe are also a part of the job. Actually its like being a mom only the children are way older. Sometimes I'm the only person they can rely on because family members cant understand the changes and some tend to stay away. So nin some senses im the only family they have. Its hard not to become attatched to them because they become a part of your life.Im proud of being CNA of the year for 2013 for my being a team player always depenable and i work indepentdently. I am a mother of three children ages 18,16, &13 I became certified as an CNA In 2009 and ive been doing it every sense. Ive thought of furthering my career by enrolling in some lpn classes but i decided that being a CNA is where i need to be .
