I cared for 2 elderly patients with Alzheimer's, heart conditions, and strokes for 15 years. I also cared for a terminally patient for 10 years. I learned through this that patients and family members don't always understand their insurance, their diagnosis, alternative help and medical records which are all very important for the care of the patient. This lead me to the medical record, billing, and coding aspect. With my education I am able to help the patient and their family members on the more technical side of their insurance, medical records, and alternative types of help. I practice yoga, reflexology, Reiki, herbology, and aromatherpy. I was on my way to becoming licensed in all of these when I was asked to care give for several people. I am also in the process of becoming a death and mourning doula (midwife).
