I am a caregiver for 30 +yrs.i love what i do, though challenging at times i treasure my work.i was the baby of 4 my Mom had a massive stroke and as the baby of the 4 i, along with my husband cared for her at home. She was total care and i had 2 small children at the time as i said it was challenging, i reflect on that time as a privilege because i had a wonderful mother and she cared for me as a child when i couldn't care for my self and now it was my turn to return the love and care she gave me as a child.In addition , my husband and i also care for my father as well as both of his parents. I Don't have a very positive and optimistic personality. My name is shorter then my be nickname; while is, Joyful (a high school friend gave me that name. So, yes... I love to swim, go on walks/hikes, horseback riding, ride bikes, tennis, volleyball, travel, and many other things as well. I am a very creative person and I am a visual artist as well (I'm able to draw anything I see)... so, I have a creative eye, love working on arts and crafts, puzzles, games, photography, interior decorating, and love working with pretty much all different kinds of mediums. I've been a HHA/CNA (with CPR training and Blood-borne Pathogens that I acquired during my HHA Diploma classes with A-1 Academy) for a few years now, and I have specialized with the mentally challenged and disabled as well. I also worked with AmeriCrops. right out of high school while attending college full time. I worked as a 1st and 2nd grader tutor at IPS schools, and assisted with aftercare programs, assisted with teen night every Friday night, was a Summer Counselor, and a student Dance Instructor to assist with hours for AmeriCrops.
