I trained as a caregiver in 2011 because I like being of assistance to the elderly. It gives me great pleasure to see a client able to feed themselves, take a few steps and enjoy the outdoors after days cooped up inside. When they regain even the slightest bit of independence is a reward worth waiting for. A smile, a hug, and a heartfelt 'thank you' go a long way in making my day. It is enriching at the end of the day to know that I made someone else's day more cheerful by just being there.
