About Olivia

Greetings, My name is Olivia and my passion is to create safe spaces where individuals and their loved ones can find comfort, healing, and peaceful rest through care giving and housekeeping. Originally from Vanceboro, NC, I came to Greensboro in 2012 to major in biology. I wanted to find a way to cure the negative emotions that seemed to have become a normal part of our society like loneliness, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and hopelessness. After four long years of interdisciplinary research, domestic and abroad, I still could not find a way to ease the pain of my loved ones or myself. I decided a career change was necessary so I became a CNA and Medication Aide. What I learned during my two years experience in assisted living communities was that the best way to ease the pain of my residents was through acts of love. Also realizing that I had to love myself, I left an abusive relationship and went to my grandmother's to heal. She also suffered from chronic pain and anxiety but was my caregiver for three months. She showed me that the most potent acts of love are simple. A smiling face, a gentle word, a soothing touch, good food, clean hygiene, and a cozy environment eased my pain enough so that I could return to Greensboro and continue my journey rejuvenated. Before departing from home, I asked my grandmother how she could care for me so wholly while battling all of her problems so silently. Her reply was that while she was caring for me, she was soothing herself. "In the instabilities of life, we just need someone to care." My grandmother and I believe that care giving is blissful work and that caregivers have the potential to make anyplace feel a bit more like home. If I could aid you or a loved one in caregiver or housekeeping duties, I look forward to hearing from you. All the best, Olivia the Caregiver

I am always pleasant, I strive to be punctual. Every individual I have worked with has always had good things to say about me. I think the conversation and companionship with the elderly is amazing. I am a retired hairdresser of 35 years and when I was home I new I would have to find something to occupy my time and being a care giver seem to be the best fit for me.Now I am 10 years into the care giving and I love it

I am a great caregiver because I take pride in my work. I treat my clients as if they are my own when providing care and treatment. I chose to become a caregiver because I have a passion and desire to help and give back to others. Some of my personality traits that make me a great worker are having a lot of patience, knowing how to be kind and gentle, and knowing how to enpathize with my clients throughout their disease process. When providing care, I don't look at it as job. I actually enjoy my field of work and aim to better the quality of life. A personal achievement I am proud of is earning my RN degree and leaving a lasting impression on my clients. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is building a trusting and loving relationships with my clients so that they can depend on me in their time of need.
