When I first moved to NC., in 2004, I worked as an in home caregiver. In spite of, at the time, my thick New York accent and my 94 year old proper Southern "lady" quickly overcame these obstacles and we became fast friends. My duties included bathing, cooking, feeding, laundry and light housekeeping. I documented and administered her medications and took her vitals four times a day. Sadly Mrs. Rue passed away in 2011 and I went into the restaurant business. It wasn't until recently that I realized how rewarding and just how much I missed the home health field.
