I am currently working for a HOME HEALTH CARE AGENCY and am very happy to be a part of their team. I have a wonderful weekend and Monday client with them but unfortunately they do not have a steady schedule for me during the rest of the week at this time. I am now looking to commit to something on-going mid-week in the Durham or Chapel Hill area. I have recently decided to change my CAREER path to helping those who need it and therefore allowing them to stay in their homes. I have always had a natural talent as a care-giver and find it my calling as I move forward with my life. My parents are both in their mid 80's and I recently spent 2 years in Maine helping them to get settled in ASSISTED LIVING. It was a wonderful experience getting to know their new neighbors. In the summer of 2010 I was the sole care-giver for a gentleman that had been in a motorcycle accident. He broke his neck in several places and required a halo for 3 months. I moved in with him and took responsibility for all his needs. I have also had the pleasure of being a care-giver to a step-daughter who is mentally challenged with Smith Magenis Syndrome.

    I started out in a privately owned Assisted Living in 2003, not needing my LNA. During my first year there, I fell in love with taking care of others. I went back to school and got my LNA license in 2004 (NH requires you to be licensed). I enjoy serving our seniors by helping them lead full and productive lives each day. My personal achievement would have to be moving to another state and challenging my skills to take the test and get my CNA here in NC in 2010. I also took the state test to become a medication tech in 2016. I feel that I can adapt easily to any environment and can work very well with others.
