I think what makes me.a good caregiver is I TRULY CARE & LOVE the elderly. It's not just a job to me. I love to talk to them and hear their life stories. I think they are the forgotten of our generation that need true companionship and good CARE. I enjoy most just sitting with them if their able to talk and getting to know them and hearing their stories. They are so wise and too many time I've seen them get brushed off by others as if they are not important. I consider my personal.achievement was taking care of my mother. Her dementia was bad. Lots of very stressful and hard days. Some days even she would cuss me out and say she hated me. I would have to go outside and cry. But then once I had to get her up to go to the restroom she would hug my neck and say"I don't know what I would do without you." and that made it all worthwhile. I took care of her until she became bad enough that the family decided she needed to be somewhere with 24 he medical care.

I took care of my mother who had severe dementia Parkinson's and Fibromyalgia. She was wheelchair bound so I did everything from getting her out of bed,.cleaning her up and getting her dressed, taking her to the living to watch her show until I made her breakfast. Once she ate we did her meds then she would usually nap, that's where I did the house work while she napped. I did errands or took her to doc appts. If she had an accident I.cleaned her up and changed her clothes, I gave her showers. Curled her hair, painted her nails. Once her dementia and Parkinson's got so bad and she wouldn't eat the family decided she needed 24'he care.

I was a live in Caregiver for Mr Bivens. He was in a wheelchair due to a stroke. I did everything from getting him and dressed in the morning, cooking breakfast, meds, housework, laundry, doc appts, helping him with his exercise and physical therapy. I only stayed their a yr because I never had a day off and family member decided to come in and take care of him.

My client has prostate cancer.that turned terminal and had spread to his lymph nodes. He also showed signs of dementia so I ended up.moving in with him temporarily. I took care.of his every need from cooking, meds, cleaning, bathing,d dressing him, errands , doc appts,.etc. Unfortunately his cancer won the battle.in 2012. I truly miss him.

I would be a great caregiver because I worked and love my elderly people.. Without them I wouldn't be where I am now. I moved here in NC to help take care of my grandma when I was 12. I've learned lots of things from my grandma..Took care of her til she was 101 years old. My mom and sisters all are in the nursing field and that's what attracted me to being a care giver. The most I enjoy being a caregiver is meeting new people, talking to them and most of all getting to listen to all the stories they lived when they was little. A kind smile or a pat on your back of a job well done.. Not to mention when they ask you Are you coming back ? Is a stamp of approval for me that it was a very good day and a job well done.
