Hi my name is VaShanti. I've been considered to be caring, innovative, and passionate. When I was younger I often helped my grandmother with things such as shopping, cleaning, administering her insulin, and cooking due to her physical limitations. Since then I've developed a heart and passion for helping others. Later in life I took on the role as a caregiver/ direct support staff. What I enjoy most about my work is being able to help my clients feel greater beyond their limitations. I want my clients to be comfortable no matter what. With that being said my goal is to prove to my clients' that I am a trustworthy helping hand and that I care. My previous work was with bright spring health where I worked with the mentally ill and physically limited . I built relationships with all of my clients so that I could understand their needs and wants better. I've learned a lot from my clients in return. While being employees with brightspring health I was promoted to DSP Lead and soon later home manager. I am very proud of the work I do and hope to continue to make a positive change within my clients' lives.

I have found that my passion/calling is to care for the elderly and/or individuals, who can't do so for themselves. My heart is overwhelmed with genuine happiness when providing care and/or maintaining a personal relationship with each resident, client, and/or patient. I sincerely love fulfilling my heart's desires & passion by providing care, love, companionship, friendship, and even medical care to individuals; resulting in them having a sense of peace, as they go through life changes and having to deal with situations that may be unfamiliar. I find that doing so & providing the utmost respectful care to each of them, brings forth a growth for even myself, as I continue my education into becoming an RN (later to bridge into Nurse Practitioner). Daily, I am seeking the latest knowledge and skill so hopefully I can improve my care traits daily, to a wider/higher demand of clients. I am most definitely proud of a personal achievement in my life pertaining to my husband (who was diagnosed with late stages of Testicular cancer twice)! After receiving a prognosis of 18 months, I decided to further my education & resources, in hopes to find more options....and I did! After nearly 2 years, he is now in remission & cancer-free! This is not to boast about what I did, but instead the 'determination, drive, & passion', that I was blessed with. I will ALWAYS go above & beyond in providing the best care for clients & their family members! I believe there is always room for growth and in order to do so, you must first humble yourself to what you were called to do, whatever that may be!

All of my clients and residents became so much more to me than just someone I work for. They became my family. I never had much of a family growing up. So to have a job where I can work with people that love and appreciate everything I do for them means the world to me. I love giving and helping people who can no longer do for themselves anymore. What makes me a great caregiver? It is passion for helping people. I first knew that I wanted to care for people when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 18 years old. I took care of my two younger brothers. Since then, I have been caring for people. My heart goes out to those who can't take care of themselves, that is why I do everything in my power to make the ones I care for feel like they exist and to have purpose in life. It makes me feel so good to know that I can make somebody feel so good about him or her self.
