I have 18+ years experience as a LNA/ CNA/MA/Housekeeper. I am CPR/BLS and First Aid certified. I have worked in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Homecare and Hospice. A majority of my clients have been diagnosed with Dementia. I have alot of extended learning learning hours with Alzheimer's. I absolutely love working with seniors. I can't imagine doing anything else in this life. I have been out on my own for, five years now, I love the one on one contact of homecare. Integrity is the word I use to describe myself. I always do the right thing, even when no one is looking. Because I am honest and dependable, the work continues to flow. I usually work within the same family for a very long time. I can administer medications and insulin, take vitals, personal care, housekeeping, transportation, cooking, pet care, hospice, really anything you need I can help. I became a caregiver, because I like to be of service. I have an AA degree in Mental Health and Human Services, and have worked in the field for over 25 years. I started out working Direct care and then went on to provide staff training on how best to serve a variety of individuals. What I love about care-giving is that I am able to use my skills on a one on one bases to improve the quality of life for the customer. One of the things that I am most proud of is that I had a client that everyone told me that she was unable to do anything to help herself, such as eating bathing and communicating her needs. When I worked with her in 6 moths she was able to feed herself and she was able to communicate her needs to me as well as others. Love, respect and honor moves mountains. I have years of experience in the service field and I am an excellent communicator and love to support each individual in living a life of joy and love.

My name is Shayna Hawkins. I am a 3 year sports medicine student, I am going to start my CNA classes in august, and I also rodeo queen. I am great at problem solving, I am very understanding, and also very patient as well. My family is full of EMT's, nurses, and clinical workers. I have always loved helping people out and learning about the human anatomy. I enjoy making bonds/friendships. I know I have a job to take care of, but it is very important to look at the needs and wants of the person you are providing for. I am very proud of myself for getting accepted in nursing school my junior year of high school, and winning rodeo queen. Becoming a rodeo queen has taught me a lot about human behavior and looking outside of the box.

Prior to being a professional caregiver, I took care of my grandmother before she passed and I seen that my passion is to take care of people and love. That's my calling. I love all my clients, residents and individual who is needing assistance. My favorite part of caregiving and the most rewarding is the friendship between you and that individual. I wouldn't trade my job for the world!

I saw how happy my mother was when she was a help to this family and how much they appreciated her care. i am a very loving and caring person . everytime i am doing something for someone i do it the same way i would like it done for myself . i am dedicated to my job and would probably live there if i could . i am a very sympathetic person also emotional so i always have a strong connection with my patients . what i enjoy most about my job is everyone i have ever worked with has requested me back and that has told me i am doing something right . personal achievements i would be proud of would be being with someone as they took their last breath . i got to know such an amazing person . i have been put under pressure in so much different situations from deaths , seizures , fainting , hem-ridging , and falling . the list goes on . everyday at my job i learn something new and am more prepared for the next time .
