Having worked in various health care professions, I find it a passion of mine to work with our elderly senior populations. I have both professional and personal experience working with loved ones who may be suffering from Diabetes, requiring assistance with meal preparations, running errands, and providing positive companionship with someone who suffers from Dementia & Alzheimer's Disease. Hi! My name is Julie and I have been in the caregiving field for over 15 years now. I have a B.A in Psychology from the University of California Santa Cruz. I pride myself in being a kind, caring, empathetic, conscientious individual. I went to school and pursued a degree in Psychology because I wanted to work in a field of service. Hence, I have spent the last 20 years assisting others in pursuing the best quality of life that is possible for them.

I became a cna because my great grandma who raised me became a diabetic and had to have both of her legs amputated. I was around 11or 12. She learned how to walk with new prostetics and her walker. Also I had to administer her insulin at times. She passed shortly after I turned 18. I dedicated my life to her.

I have worked as a care for over 20 years. I enjoy caring for my residents. It's so rewarding. There is nothing more that's gives me the passion to wake up every day and put a smile on the residents face.

Hi! My name is Nikki I am 25 years old, I graduate in May with my AA in health science. I plan on transferring to SJSU to get my BSN. What attracted me to be a caregiver is my passion for helping others and helping me gain more day to day knowledge on my way to my future career.

Case manager for home care agencies for 7 yrs, I now offer private consultation as well as hands on care for Activities of Daily Living, Companionship, etc. I am very familiar with elder care/memory care, Including but not limited to, Dementia/Alzheimer's. I am also familiar with Parkinson's disease and medications. Extensive experience with catheters, feeding tubes, Hoyer lifts, etc. I have lots of experience with end of life care. I can offer training/education to caregivers and/or family. I can attend doctor appointments to keep Health Care Team and family informed. I can handle medication administration, reminders, refills, etc. I will monitor for medication efficacy/ overall condition and contact MD if any issues arise. 1. What makes me a great caregiver is the fact that I love the job I do; which is providing care for people in need as I would care for myself or expect others to care for me. I don't belong to the class of caregivers who believe they are not being payed enough for this job. I love caregiving with all my heart, body and soul. 2. I became a caregiver after seeing my mom providing everyday care for my grandpa. Later on I came across an ad looking for caregivers in a retirement home; right there I realized I could provide help/care for the elderly and sick who needed it most. It was completely born out of compassion for people who needed care but have no one to care for them like my mom cared for my grandpa. 3. There is no satisfaction greater than putting smiles on the face of people who can't offer you anything other than gratitude. Seeing my residents and their families happy after providing care for them is such a great feeling. I love the fact that I can make them feel loved and protected. 4. My achievements as a caregiver are too many to count. On several occasions I have detected early signs of stroke amongst my residents even when my coworker and supervisors doubted me; but on all occasions, paramedics and doctors on arrival always congratulate me for detecting those signs. Being able to avert an imminent threat to the life of my residents is fulfilling.

I have been working in the medical field for over 25 years..I became a caregiver to my first clientt in 2011 and soon realized I was meant to do Caregiving to our Special Seniors or whomever may need this type of care .My first client eventually was in a nursing home for a period of 1 month. During that time, I had the desire to return to school and became a CNA. I truly enjoyed all the training and the experience that I received. I acquired a job with Visiting Angels in 2013. I have had some awesome experiences working with our senior citizens. I also have a daughter who is now 18 and has had a medical condition since she was 5 months old. I believe all of the experiences that I have had help me to be a very compassionate caregiver to my clients and my clients family. I at times have stayed in touch with family members even after their loved one has passed away. I have been working as a Nursing Assistant at our local Hospital for over a year and a half..I Love my position in taking care of those who need help while in the hospital..My daughter is now 20 and my oldest 23..Each BLESS my life daily!!
