I am a retired LPN , who now have decided to do one on one care with clients. My skills include all CNA training in addition to physical assessments, wound care, patient teaching, medication administration, geriatrics, pediatrics, medical surgical nursing, and companionship with my clients. I have various references available upon request. I have been in the medical profession for 21 years. I sincerely get satisfaction from caring and taking care of others I feel like I'm making a difference in someone's quality of life,and I like to make people happy. My personal achievement I'm most proud of is earning every single academic achievement award available at my college.Im also really funny, I have a great sense of humor.

I am a very friendly down to earth women of 61 years young. I have a vast array of professional experiences from recovering patients straight from the operating room that have had open heart surgery to caring for newborns. I had to retire in 2004 because I became very ill with lymphedema and a very painful bladder disease called interstitial cystitis. Being severely ill has made me even more caring and compassionate for anyone suffering from any illness. I like to incorporate family into my patient care as much or as little as the family member is comfortable. I believe that God allowed me to become ill so that I could become a very compassionate care giver. I actually CARE for my patients.

At the age of 18 I was introduced to caregiving. I am now 31 years of age and have continued my career path as a caregiver. I originally became a caregiver so that I could go in and care for my elderly disabled cousin when she first moved to my area, however I was never placed with her, but I was hired and placed with other clients and it was almost like second nature to me, I absolutely loved it so that's when I decided to take the caregiving career path. So far it has been a success and I've learned so much and am now able to care for many different types of cases with ease. My skills go beyond caregiving though, I also have worked in an emergency room as an emergency room technician which allowed me to gain more knowledge within the medical part of care. while I was working there, I acquired certifications in BLS/First Aid/AED use, EKG technician, Drug screening and breath alcohol testing, as well as picked up many skills in behavior health, orthopedics, heart care, stroke care, wound care, and so much more. My favorite thing about caregiving is knowing that I am there for those who were there for my generation and knowing that they are in great hands is just a couple of my favorite things about caregiving. Most of all I'd have to say, I absolutely love spending time with my clients and giving them the companionship that they need and deserve so that they do not have to worry about being lonely. The saying is true that people can die from loneliness and its heartbreaking knowing how many people do have to live without anybody in their lives. If I could be there for them all I would. I am always so happy to be in their presence knowing I'm making a difference in that person's life. It is a sense of fulfillment to me as if I am doing exactly what I was destined to do.

What makes me a great caregiver it's because I care about the person that I am giving care to an glad that I can be there for them when no one else can. I became a caregiver because as I was growing up I had to care for my great grandma when I was in high school. After I got out of School while my grandma went to work an I told her I wanted to help take care of people when I grow. I've learned a lot since I've been a caregiver know as DSW now

My uncle had a bad accident , which left him paralyzed from the chest down , so i would help my gma. I love taking care of people. I believe its my calling. I'm from Dallas, Texas and I'm currently looking for something to do with my extra time. I'm a very reliable person as well as a loyal individual. I love helping the elderly in there daily routine that would help them better there day. I becme a caregiver because I enjoy helping take care of the elderly. I understand some of them have special needs and I love helping them with these needs,whether it involves grooming,dressing, running errands, bathing etc. I love being a caregiver, I have so much love to share with them . Ilove helping all races no matter what age. My personal achievement is I give all my effort to help and finish whatever job I start. I've worked in different homes, and I now work in a nursine home. I've worked for 23 years in a nursing home. I enjoy meeting people and I also get to learn a few things from them. They bring about a lot of my smiles especially when I have bad days.
