First and for most i am a people person who believe in great humility. Basically treat all people in a right way, respect an acknowledge them regardless of their background. I always believe that i was born to help others specially those who are in need of someone who can be there for them as well as be supportive of their situation they facing in life to the point of life treating situation. I was born to be a care giver in different ways specially when it comes to an emotionally part of someone who feel helpless, whether life is treating by death or alive person but whose emotions are hurt by something/ someone but i am the candidate who definitely have to be there in order to avoid physical or psychological injury or mentally disturbed. Because one of the reason why people are cripple, sick, lonely or helpless its because of being emotional hurt which i am a candidate who believe strongly in giving love and caring or be supportive to others when they need you. Basically be available for those specially in need of someone to support when they going through. The most achievement i live and proud of with is when people coming to me and say they are free with suffering from their mind up to their life because i took a stand in helping them. This is coming even from the strangers and end up being a friend with them. But main thing because i was there for them even if they needed a COURAGE, STRENGTH, LOVE and be SUPPORTIVE - be there FOR THEM which is who i am.

I am Geriatric nursing assistant with two and a half years of nursing experience. I also have ten years of Nursing experience as an RN in Ghana before relocating to the USA in 2016. I am very professional, diligent and above all have empathy for the people I care for. I have passion for the work I do. It has always been my dream to care for the sick and put smiles on their faces hence my reason for becoming a caregiver. My personal achievement I have been proud of is assisting a client with ADL , and then gradually the client became independent in performing her ADLs, and this brought joy to both me and the client because initially she could do only 25% . And as a caregiver I felt proud of that.

I became a caregiver because of my struggles in finding quality care for my aging ill parents. I live in the state of MD and they lived in Brooklyn New York. I am the eldest, of 7 and traveled (when possible) to and from Md/Brooklyn, New York; to provide the best care possible for them. As my younger siblings seemed to be struggled to care for them. I was a homeowner at the time here in Md after my retiring from LE. I heard about CNA/GNA and went back to school to get my license to adequately care for my parents before I brought them to Md and we all knew they wanted very much to be in a home environment, not a nursing facility. My folks never made it to here to Md. I miss them dearly.! Since that time I have been working as a CNA/GNA,, devoted to upgrading my experience and interpersonal communication skills in this capacity to be of service to others in ill health or circumstance providing at home quality care. I'm now in my Jr year of college in Pre Nursing. I always attempt to give 110% of my work ethic! What I like about being a caregiver is just that..Giving care. Quality Caring and serving the needs of individuals that can no longer adequately care for themselves but want to stay in their homes. My Personal Achievement: I once worked in a nursing facility Hospice unit and assisted a resident to eat after going on a hunger strike. She was a former Chef and restaurant owner. She said she was "dying" what was the point in her eating, and she said she had no appetite. This was around Easter holiday, I worked my Sat off day to have Sunday off because i was having a dinner party with family and friends. To stay in tradition i wanted to make roasted Lamb but I didn't quite no how. So I asked my hospice client how. As she began to tell her recipe, it made her hungry. I prepared a small meal that she ate. Two days later she passed. Her family was greatful for the care I gave but more importantly that she left having a last meal.
