I am a healthcare professional with 25+ years experience working in geriatric, memory care, dementia and Alzheimer's patients. I work in hospice care, palliative medicine, end of life care. I am a patient, compassionate, good listener, kind, caring caregiver. I do skilled nursing, wound care, first aid, post surgery care for transitioning patients to homecare. My start in healthcare was volunteering at the Red Cross, church and community outreach , I have worked eight years at the Washtenaw County DHS with CLS/CMH organizations as consumer advocate . I have worked long years managing assisted living facilities, nursing homes, directing memory care units, training, teaching and mentoring. I have earned Bachelor's of Science from EMU and Surgical Technology program from WCC. I am passionate about helping people to better their lives and improve their health.

I have always loved helping and taking care of people as a child. I realized it was a talent I had when I grew up and I have loved it ! I started my career in Health Care right out of High school. I have over 20 years experience. I have worked Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Hospice. With that I have seen a lot & been taught by some amazing leaders. I go into each home with the attitude of this could be my Parent/ Grandparent, Treat them as how i would want my family cared for. My favorite thing about being a caregiver is the history of my patents. It brings so much joy to see them smile and relive there favorite memories of the past. I held my Certified Nursing assistant license for many years & only gave it up when I choose to not work in Nursing Homes. I keep up with all the latest training & have many certificates.

I am a outside of the box person. I enjoy being innovative in my work: creating new activities, daily schedules, and better systems. I was attracted to caregiving, because I like seeing others become more autonomous. Helping other people simply feel better about life is rewarding to me. It is an emotionally challenging job but I love the challenge. I like the freedom of caregiving. When you're with your client you get to create a space of peace and happiness however that person thinks peace and happiness is. But, one if my proudest moments was when my past dementia clients remembered my name, because he enjoyed the time we spent together.

I like people and have compassion and respect for their feeling. I have a strong desire to comfort and care for others and improve their quality of life. My greatest achievement was successfully raising two children who are now generous, kind adults who are an asset to the community.
