I spent 11 years in the military in which I was honorably discharged at the end of 2012. I completed and received an associate degree in art while serving. I continued my education while being unemployed from the time I was released from the military until April of 2013 and earned a bachelor degree in psychology. A week later I began practical nursing school and graduated top of my class a year later and was rewarded the leadership award. I passed my state board and earned my Practical Nursing license with an IV certification. I have since worked as an admission nurse, hospice nurse, agency nurse, floor nurse, managed a long term care facility, and was a day shift manager as well as a day shift unit supervisor. I recently completed my associate's degree in science in nursing and am waiting to sit for boards for my registered nursing license. I am looking to slowly transition from the facility setting into private duty helping people in their home setting.

I enjoy people and find it personally rewarding to help someone that is in need. I like being in a one on one position so I can give individualized attention to who I am caring for. As a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and personal fitness trainer, I have a huge heart for taking care of others. This is the greatest gift that God has given me. I am incredibly compassionate, caring, encouraging, motivating, and attentive to detail. I am a full time personal trainer and I own my own business but I thought of doing care-giving on the weekends when I am not training clients in order to help pay for a missions trip I am going on this summer to Africa. I started working with an 88 year old female client this past year as an in home trainer. When she fell ill and ended up in the hospital, her family asked me to see her 7 days a week to do care-giving duties as well as physical therapy rehab. Her doctor told me that he did not think she would live through the process and was absolutely amazed when she recovered stronger than before. This has been, as a trainer, and as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, my greatest personal achievement in working with a client. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the relationship I form with both the client and their family members. I have such a heart for the elderly, as I have worked in many skilled nursing facilities doing physical therapy, and I have lost in the past few years, both my grandma and grandpa. I think that it really helps give a family peace of mind when they find a caregiver who is not only competent and capable of taking care of their loved ones, but also someone who truly cares about that persons' well being.
