I became a caregiver because like helping people, especially those who are unable to provide for themselves adequately. For some reason I have always had the softest spot for elderly people, or just people with disabilities in general. My parents was 40+ when I was born and I also have a nephew who was born with a rare disorder, so before I even decided to become a certified caregiver I realized that I already was one. I enjoy the work I do because I know how big of an impact my love and affection puts on other people. As an disabled or elderly person, they need the extra love in their life and I decided to be that person, even if it is only for a few hours out the day. Every second matters. My greatest achievement was becoming a CNA, some would go further and want more, but to me it is not about the money. As a LPN, or RN I wouldn't have much 1 on 1 times with my patients as I want and that's not what I want. So being a CNA will allow me to be around them and show them as much care and love as I can.
