Having been a Care giver for 9+ years I still do not look at it as being a job. I have had experience in all areas of Care giving. CPR/First Aid trained. Held a Cosmetology license since 1989. Have experience in all areas of care from companionship to ALS, Parkinson's and Dementia. If your loved ones hair or nails needs cared for I can also help in that area. I have been an emergency technician for the past 26 years. I took care of a vast array of patients including many who were in critical condition. I recently left the ER to be the caretaker for a husband and wife. I am responsible for bathing, cooking, grocery shopping, medication distribution, and household cleaning. Its a joy being able to help keep them out of a nursing home. The wife has end stage COPD and the husband has Parkinsons. I am especially proud that because of my efforts they are still living at home. The relationship I have built with them has been well worth it too. The husband has even given me the nickname Christmas because he looks forward to seeing me every morning.

I enjoy making a positive difference in the lives of the persons I serve. I understand what is needed too be a excellent caregiver too the persons I serve. I have 25 years experience working in Home Care and also Directed Care in group home setting. I recognize the need for discretion, tact, patience and good judgement. As a caregiver I am compassionate and caring. I decided to become a caregiver after helping care for my grandfather during his end of life.
