The reason I entered the field was because my Mother and Stepdad took sick when I was about 12 and I became the care provider to them both. We did not have much money to have a around the clock nurse so the nurse we had taught me how to do many things. When my parents passed I became a CNA/GNA and I worked in a nursing home setting which I loved for about 7 years. I wanted more even to become a nurse so I left the nursing home setting and begin working in the hospital. I worked there for about 6 years when I had my son I left the hospital and tried a new venture. I entered into my current and most rewarding field, working with individual's who needed me most. A personal goal of mines was to return to school something I have started and look forward to finishing not just for me but for my son and to give back to those I work with and support on a day to day basis.
