I have always had great compassion for those who are sick, the elderly, and disabled. I began my caregiving by volunteering for Hospice for seven years. CNAs happily taught me how to do bed baths, empty urinals, and even how to change bed linens with patient still in bed. I am comfortable, and have experience in just about all facets of caregiving, which includes personal hygiene, including bathing, feeding, safely transferring patient from bed to chair, etc. I am comfortable using a Hoyer lift, and have changed and sanitized urine bags. Upon moving to a new city I began doing home caregiving as a way of paying my bills, and family recommendations kept me busy. I have enjoyed caring for the ELDERY with all kinds of medical problems, and DISABLED people, as well. In addition to passing the background check required for this site, I have a LEVEL II BACKGROUND CHECK which is far deeper than this site requires. I have taken and passed the HHA test, although I did not take the class. I am CPR certified, have had a two step TB test, I presently work for a local caregiving agency, but they are unable to provide me with enough hours, so I am eager to get full time hours! I have many references I can give if you are interested in knowing more. I prefer days, but I am open for any schedule.

At the age of 8 I started being my mom's assistant caring for people and my first patient was my grandmother I cared for her for many years as she became more sick my responsibility grew I was responsible for bathing, cleaning, laundry, hygiene and more but the part I loved the most was the good talks that we had I was able to make her feel alright and happy and not alone until the day she passed. I have 16 years of care experience. Have worked with mentally challenged and disabled. Specialize in Alzheimer's/ Dementia clients along with short/long term hospice care. Full care assistance from daily hygiene, meal preparation, medications prompting, transporting and light housekeeping. I am a non smoker, honest, respectful and reliable. I'm fully Covid vaccinated and don't have a problem with wearing a mask.

My initial interest in caregiving began when I started caring for my Grandmother who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1987. I saw the difference it made in her life to have someone available and willing to help her with the things that most of us are able to take care of ourselves. We take for granted every day that we are healthy and able to perform these tasks. It is a blessing to have someone who is available to help us with these things when we are no longer able to do them. In my time as a caregiver, I feel that I have seen and helped with everything from the most basic needs to the most complex. There isn't much that scares me. I am easily able to let difficulties with even the most challenging clients slide right off my back. I have thick skin and I am not easily offended. When I accepted the position with Visiting Angels back in 2011, not only was I able to supervise a crew of approximately 65 caregivers but I had the opportunity to occasionally assist with filling in for those caregivers in the event of an emergency. Since moving here to Florida in late 2015 I have not had the opportunity to work directly with clients since my work now is mostly computer and phone related supervisory duties, remotely from home. I miss the hands on care and the one on one relationships that are formed when caregiving. I am very interested in helping to supplement my income while making a difference in someone else's life. Now that we have moved back to the Greenville, SC area, I am ready to get started!
