Hello my name is Olivia. I am a mother of 4 last 2 girls are attending Westlake High. I am bilingual, I enjoy being a caregiver i get to know my clients and help them to continue doing their hobbies they once use to do. I love to listen to stories they have endured while growing up. My clients I care for I take care of them as I would my own family. I live in San Marcos but all of my clients were from Austin,Tx. My specific areas I have had my pleasure of working with my clients were Westlake/Rollingwood, Brookdale on Mesa Dr. / Baltierra / Querencia Assisted living/so many other places. I have been doing caregiving since I remember the first time my mom got diagnosed with being a diabetic I was about 15. So I learned about it by going with her to her appointments. So about 20+ yrs. of experience as I got older I cared for my mom then later my father til they past. I love taking care of others sometimes I wish there were more of me to help others that need help. I have done it all from tube feeding to hoyer lift, Companion to bed bound. I do have a pharmacy tech. trainee certificate. If any more questions please do ask. Sorry did not mention this at earlier time I'm not a smoker and I would prefer non smokers thank you.

Hi my name is Raquel a little bit about me im honest, trustworthy dependable, and love helping people or animals. I have 1 daughter and a fiance i love animals i have 1 dog and 3cats. I've been a CNA for 12 years and worked in nursing homes majority of the time and have done home health on and and off. I enjoy home health way more because of the one on one time and getting to know the patient and their stories. I have experience with Alzheimer's/dementia and find that i can work really well with them. Some days are better than others and thats ok because theyre just as confused than they have ever been just trying to understand whats going on in that point of time. In 1981, when I was a five-year-old child, my mother became gravely sick with an illness her doctors could not diagnose. She often spent four to five months at a time in the hospital, recover enough to come home, but would fall ill again and again with no explanations. This went on for approximately seven years. During the time my mom was home my two sisters, brother, and I did everything we could to make her comfortable that we were capable of doing as children. Yet, seeing my mom in pain and so much discomfort instilled within me a tremendous sense of empathy and compassion. Despite the short periods of time she spent at home between hospitalizations, I developed a deep sense of appreciation for my mother because I missed her terribly. Thankfully, she finally came home and the relief was immense. My grandmother lived with us for 15 years due to her deteriorating health as a result of diabetes, cataracts, loss of hearing, and the loss of the ability to clothe and prepare her own food. I helped to dress her in the morning, attend to her left foot which she almost lost to gangrene. But we managed to heal it and she only lost her left big toe. She was still able to walk albeit with a walking chair. I loved to bake so I would make special desserts for her which she was allowed small portions. It was a great activity for us to bond together. She could watch me make it and give me tips. In college, I became a Caregiver for a quadriplegic man. Although, I didn't have experience caring for a paralyzed man, Michael told me he would explain what he needed on the job. My morning shift started at 7AM and I bathed his nude body, medicated his bedsores, emptied his catheter, performed physical therapy, and fed him his breakfast. If he had chores to complete during my shift, I'd dress him then move him from his bed to his wheelchair and into in his van. Once we finished his chores, I would put him back in his bed, remove his clothing, and clean his apartment.

I'm great at what I do because I'm extremely patient and have a sense of humor. I understand the importance of taking my time and taking care of people as if they were my own family. I enjoy helping others and can only hope that when it's my time, some one cares for me the way that I have cared for my patients in the past.

I became a care giver when I realized the effect it had on my M0M when she was ill. We did not as family have enough time to take the right care of her, so she could stay in her home and live the rest of her life were she was happy, safe and comfortable. Having a wonderful care giver made her quality of life much better. It also made us as a family less worried and we appreciated all the caring ways our care giver gave my M0M. I love being able as a care giver myself to make a difference in daily life for our wonderful seniors we have. They can be happy in their own homes, knowing someone cares. There is always someone to make them smile, hug them, and reassure them you will be back the next day. Personal achievement I am proud of is to work hard every day making sure my client is safe, happy and smiles when I walk through the door each day. I am a passionate care giver with a big heart,I enjoy doing little things for people as well as the big ones. I have a wonderful sense of humor and I leave my personal problems at home. I enjoy reading, swimming, conversation and listening to stories all our seniors have to tell.

Home health to me is so much more than just a job. It's truly companion/friendship. I started helping my G. Aunt who was a home nurse when I was younger with our own family. My uncle ha Gma both had a long fight with cancer. My father had multiple sclerosis, an my mom a diabetic/work aholic with heart issues. Understanding what the patient is actually going through is the key. I love to hear stories and learn new things every day from the people I work with I still have a lot of life together and I'm glad I could share it with them they teach me every day just as I hope I can help them make things a little easier daily. I believe in doing everything you can on your own I'm just the one in the corner cheering you on. I do like to build things not just clean. I recently started working for burning the wood it's really interesting. I am a little shy at first but once I learn the routine, I learn quickly, I am thorough, observant, an eager for more things to do
