I was 15 years old and just started my freshman year of high school when I was placed in a class called Intergenerational Studies. For 2 hours each day I was taken to the nursing home called Golden Years there in Elgin, Tx. I started off just getting residents from their rooms to come and do activities with me. But it wasn't long and I was working side by side with CNAs, RNs, and at one point the DON had me shadow her for 2 weeks. I just got really interested and a few years after graduation and having my son, I pursued a CNA certification and was assigned the hospice hall and the "lockdown unit" which was occupied by the more violent patients and those with conditions such as Alzheimer's and/or parkinson's, as well as those with behavioral health conditions. I honestly just fell in love with everything about caring for the elderly. Even the hard and very emotional side of the care I provide is something I wouldn't want to stop doing. I would love to get my CNA back but just haven't attempted to do so since my husband passed in 2011. Since my high school days I have worked with all ages of people, from a 2 year old little princess to a 98 year old gentleman I referred to as Fred Astaire due to them looking like twins. He loved it and would smile so big when I walked in every day; and every day he would say "Good morning Ms. Judy (Garland). You feel like dancing the day away?" It's things like that for which I love my work. Please feel free to ask anything, I would love to tell everything now but there is just so much I've been blessed to have experienced with so many different people I'd never be done.

Hello my name is Natasha. When I was 14 years old my great grandmother who I was very close to got diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Her memory declined fairly quickly but I was able to take care of her after school and on weekends until I was 18 years old. She then got moved to a nursing home for her final days. That is what started this journey in wanting to become a caregiver, I loved taking care of my great grandmother and I want to be there to care of any others in need. After my great grandmother passed I became a caregiver/resident assistant. After that I took some time off to become a stay at home mom to my 3 wonderful boys! Two of my boys are special needs my oldest is Autistic and my youngest has Stickler Syndrome. I have enjoyed being home with them for the last 5 years but they are in school full time now and I am ready to get back to taking care of others in need. In total I have about 14 years of caregiving experience.

I am an EMT and have always loved taking care of people especially the elderly. I took care of my mother who had ALZ in a facility until she passed from Covid. I especially love taking care of end-of-life patients.

I chose the caregiving career because of my love and patience for the elderly. Caring for my great grandparents and grandparents is what attracted me to this field. Caregiving is a very rewarding job. My love and compassion would be some of my best traits

Raised by both sets of grandparents I consider myself an old soul with tons of respect class and heart, I am extremely aware of others needs almost as I feel what they feel (Overly empathetic) live to serve, aim to please, dedicated, determined. I was born to heal & care for others not many can handle the emotional part of being ill but I find deep satisfaction in helping and knowing I changed someone's life and helped there loved ones get through this part of life. I've never met anyone who doesn't love & trust me. No children not married so I'm am very reliable, flexible & willing.
