I have extensive experience with adults and adolescents with mental illness/developmental disabilities. Experience with adults with Alzheimer's and dementia for over 5 years as well. I started out assisting in teaching western horse back riding lessons to children and adults for over 10 years, I worked my way to babysitting and private care to adults with IDD. And then began working with agencies that provided services to adults and children with mental health and IDD diagnosis. My passion is working with people, especially those diagnosed with physical or mental disabilities.

I have over ten years' experience in caregiving. I enjoy helping people in need. I am understanding, patient, and kind.

What makes me a great caregiver is that I am a very homely down to earth type person. Very patient and hardworking. I a care a lot about other people. Especially our elderly family members, because.. hey they took care someone their self once. I think people deserve the best of attention and care because in improves their quality of life and they get to stay in their comfort zone. I love to spend time with elderly people and listen to what they have to say. It allows be to be able to make sure that I know they are treated like human beings and that all of their needs are taken care of. My 2 personal achievements that I have completed in home health so far was staying with 2 people for many years each until the passed away. They became my best friends and then family.

I have been in the medical field for almost 14 years. Healthcare is my passion. My grandmother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when I was 8 years old. Everyday that I was with her, I done my best to take care of her and get her anything that she needed. She told me that I was her little nurse, and that stuck in my mind. I knew from that moment on that I wanted to be in healthcare. I enjoy taking care of people, getting to know them and doing my best to provide the care that is needed. A personal achievement that makes me most proud would be doing the heimlich maneuver on a choking Vietnam vet successfully. A couple years later his diabetes and edema got worse and he was not expected to make it much longer. I stayed with the family and done my best to make him and his family comfortable during this time and gave them as much support that I could.

I feel like I am a caregiver by nature & I've been this way as long as I remember. It gives a sense of satisfaction knowing that I help people.

I love being a caregiver. I take pride in my ability to connect with and love people in general. I feel that this isnt a job , for me its more of a calling. I look forward to getting to know you and your family. Thank you

I'm a great caregiver because I have worked with so many different people I am able to adapt to their individual needs. I have an outgoing personality and I enjoy making people feel special. I started caregiving when I was young. I have one uncle who was born with epilepsy and he's mentally handicapped. I enjoy the moments of joy I can share with my clients and the peace of mind that I can bring their loved ones. I take lots of pictures of our outings and smiles to share with loved ones. When working with my last client I streamlined the time card process and I also found misuse of the clients debit card by one of the other employees. I also started a few different procedures for everyone to fallow so we could be more consistent with his care. I started all of these while working closely with Bessie and she said I was a God send to her family and she was so grateful I was there for her father.
