I am a kind, trustworthy, loving, attentive, very dependable. I have worked with the elderly since I was sixteen. I drove a 70 year old back and forth to speech therapy in Commerce,Texas. On weekends I stayed from Friday night to Monday morning with a bed bound elderly woman. I read to her, bathed her, cooked all her food and fed her, changed her when she needed changing. I have done elder care since 16 even though I worked a full time job. I took care of my terminally ill father for a year until his death. I did everything. I ran errands, took him to his appointments and took care of all his physical and mental needs. I love taking care of people and I know that if the family has hired me they need respite and have someone with their loved one who is going to take the best care of them.

Hi, I'm Briana. I think what makes me a great caregiver is that its more than just a job to me. I like to think of the patients being one of my own family members and how i would like them to be treated with love and respect, and some dignity. I got into caregiving because my whole family are in the medical field, and i always told my grandparents once they got older i'd be the one to take care of them just like they did for me and i knew thats something i wanted to get into. I enjoy spending time with my patients, actually sit down and get to know them, make connections with them i think personally its something great to do as a caregiver because you get to help those that are in need, that cant help themselfs. I hope one day to move up in the medical field and become a nurse. as for my personaility i think i'm very bubbly i love to talk laugh and especially make others laugh, i think i'd be a great caregiver for your family member.
I love helping people especially when its comes to one on one care. I been a Caregiver for six year's it started. When my grandma became ill with Alzheimer's you have to have a heart and understanding when doing this kind of work. I am proud that I am attending college to better of my family.
I am a mother of two. I am currently living with my parents. I am a student at NMSU and I think I have a very fun, outgoing personality. I get along great with my elders and love to help in anyway I can. What attracted me to being a caregiver is my grandparents. My grandmother suffers from arthritis and a knee injury and my grandfather is a victim of Parkinson's disease. I love helping them although they would 'rather do it themselves'. I Just love to help others in need and make them happier and feel comfortable. An achievement I'm really proud of is my educational goals are being reached at a fast pace. I have surprised myself in many ways now that I have obtained my GED and am pursuing more education.
I became a caregiver because I have a caring passion, desire and love to help people in need. Being a certified personal care attendant satisfies the way I like to do things and reflects who I am. It also lets me use my inate strengths in ways that come to me naturally and enhances my life personally fulfilling. Also it nourishes the most important aspects of my personality. It's rewarding job and I look forward to going to work, and also feel energized by what I do and feel that my contribution is respected and appreciated. I also feel proud when describing my work to others and I enjoy and respect the people I work with as well as feel optimistic about my future. I also became a personal care attendant because I get to use the skills I was trained qualified to use. It's also a job that is in high demand and will continue to be. This profession is a very rewarding career and offers job satisfaction and a sense of fulfillment. I get the chance to interact with clients and their family and be an assistance in what ever way they need, whether it be reading, playing games, etc. I enjoy providing care to those who can't do for themselves, I love the smiles on the clients and families faces when they are happy about the care I provide for them and their loved one.
I became a caretaker, because I like the feeling it gives me, and the person I' m helping . I enjoy getting to know the person I'm taking care of and spending time with them.. I achieved my associates degree in medical specialties this helps me in understanding and helping the person I take care of. I am compassionate dedicated hard working and honest person, who believes in just because people get older doesn't mean they need less help. They may need more as I have found out taking care of my one clients who has had a stroke and a heart attack. Who has been my inspiration seeing her over coming so many obstacles and finding new ones she now has to over come, but still continues to move along. I attended college getting my associates degree because I found that no matter what job I held. I always found my self wanting to help others. I will be finishing my degree soon and getting my mna, so that someday in the future I can work my up to a hospital environment.
At a young age my great grandmother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, my grandmother had a heart attack and was put a pacemaker. Also my mother had a major stroke. I assisted them in many ways and still do. I enjoy being a companion to others. I'm very joyful, open to learning new things and very respectful. I am a very outgoing, happy, friendly person. I love to hear stories , do puzzles and play games. I have a lot of patience and understanding and can follow orders but be compassionate about it. I help them with whatever they need, and if they don't ,I'm still there. IE: They start m,along the bed or doing laundry .I ask only there to help them and as long as they can do something for them selves it makes them feel good to do it or at last help you. I just love helping people and making their life easier when its no longer easier for them. I like to run errand and help them when they need it and if they don't I'm still gonna be there for when they do .The little things make a big difference. I have experience in dementia and COPD and know when you lose your memory or start to its really hard and people need to understand when their parents get upset its rarely at them personally, they are upset with themselves bacaouse they cant remember and its frustrating for them and sometimes they come across as being mad, they are not. I am proud of the memory wall and how it has helped so many people and helps them remember or just think they do.
Personality traits that help me being a caregiver is being capable of adapting to new things, cooperative, caring, flexible, optimistic, respectful for one another. Passionate of having the ability to help others for their well being. Getting to know patients, that is one of the most things i enjoy besides cleaning. I like listening to their stories from their past. I like to know what they did as a hobby, their dreams if they have accomplished their goals or what is it that they still can and want to do. Being a caregiver it's an honor. knowing that i can do someone else's day, it's a satisfying feeling at the end of my day. Growing up and seeing members going through pain and hard days makes me want to do more for those in need of assistance . I am proud that I love caring for others.
