I chose to become a caregiver because I needed a job and I watched my mom do for 18yrs so thats part of the reason I became a caregiver. I've been a caregiver for 4yrs, the most rewarding part about this job is the relationships you develop with the clients you care for. The clients I've worked with over the years have taught me helped me to develop more patience, compassion and being more openminded. This feild of work is rewarding in so many ways besides making good money. You develop and posses a lot of good characteristics traits and long lasting relationships and a friendship with some of the clients you work with. In the end its well worth it.
I became a caregiver because I took care of my grandmother before she passed away I enjoy working with elderly people I am a very caring person I also run an organization for homeless families so my heart is definitely there when it comes to people in need whether they are rich or poor.
I currently work as a direct support professional at Saratoga Bridges. I find this job very rewarding and touching. I feel that those with disabilities have the biggest hearts and offer the greatest learning opportunities. Many.people are quick to judge these people instead of taking the chance to really get to know them. I think they would offer you the world if they had it to give. I enjoy watching them grow and helping them in the areas in which they may struggle. I enjoy joy helping others and have a big heart. I have always been one to help those who need it. I am currently going to school to become an RN and eventually want to work with children with cancer at St. Judes.
I have 22 years experience in geriatric care, with a concentration in Alzheimer's/Dementia. I've worked in all different levels of facilities as well as private duty positions. I enjoy helping anyone in need, young or old. My current certifications are in Cardiac Dysrhymias and BLS. My MMR/PPD is current. I'm very patient and compassionate, I hope you'll consider me!
I worked as an LPN until October 2016 when I was diagnosed to breast cancer. Making life changes I decided to step back from the high paced employment I was working in at the time and step into a more relaxed role of health care, allowing me to continue with a more direct care role with my patients (or clients). Much like my role as a hospice nurse. I enjoyed this level of care during my time there. I prefer not to be beholden to the demands of "productivity markers" so prevalent in health care today and be able to focus more on the time and care of a person. I am a caring, knowledgeable, respectful person and I enjoy what I do.

What drew me to this field initially was when my grandmother had a heart attack. There are some good hospitals in florida (where I lived at the time) but majority are poor quality. Unfortunately, my grandmother ended up in one that wasn't great quality. At 16 years old, I stayed in her hospital room, sleeping on the floor, to ensure that if she needed to toilet, I could help her. I helped bathe her, and spent time with her. I did tasks that a CNA should have been performing, but it was the best thing for her because it gave her a sense of dignity in a moment of her life that was hard enough as it was. I have been working towards getting my RN completed ever since; while this goal has still not been accomplished, I am working towards it. Family is important to me, as I'm sure it is to you for your loved one. I am a single mother of 2 boys, recently divorced. I am a hard worker, and very passionate about what I do. I take my time where it matters, and recognize that there is always room for education and improvement.
I just always had a passion to help others it's just something I love doing. Being able to give someone that extra help they need so that they can stay in their own homes makes me love what I do even more and also just seeing the joy that I bring into their lives not only makes their day but it also makes mine. Going back to school and receiving 3 certifications was a big accomplishment for me. I am a motivated quick learning who is eager to help others. I am very passionate about my work, I love what I do. I have worked in hospitals, nursing homes as well as homecare settings.
Skills & Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
I believe a caregiver should be someone that the patient can trust undoubtedly, and be able to bond with. After all we spend so much time with someone in their home everyone needs to be comfortable. I don't just see caring for people as a service but an honor. To be able to get to know someone's life, likes, dislikes and story all make this type of work extremely rewarding. **Will be available full time any hours after May first. Until then times will need to be set up in advance. My other job is 2-10 pm.

For over a decade I have worked in Emergency Medical Services. I love the job and all that comes with it. Healthcare covers such a broad spectrum, but at the end of the day, it is about people who need some kind of help, and people who are able to help. I enjoy being helpful, and I enjoy making an impact in someones life, no matter how big or small. Everything from assisting someones recovery and seeing them walk again, all the way to just being comfortable in peaceful moments. People everywhere need help, and I pride myself on being accountable, dependable, and reliable.

For 2yrs I took care of my grandparents before they passed. My grandpa had hard time remembering so, had give him is medication and to take a bath. My grandma had a hard time working so I had to do her dressing on her foot, cook, clean, laundry ect. Having to care for my grandparents made me want to be able to care for others plus lot seniors don't have companions where they just want company and feel wanted/loved. I enjoy bringing joy to seniors to see them happy and laughing. My personal achievement is everything I learned caring for my grandparents and then helping care for my husbands cousin who has autism. Just joy you see in them and what you also learn from them.
