My mother was a CNA for over 30 years, she treated everyone the same way she would've want to be treated if she were in their position. She thought me to do the same for everyone I meet. As a caregiver I put myself in the patients postion, try to meet their needs as much as possible,. I treat them like if they were my mother or grandmother. In the little time that I've done this work, every patient that I've encountered has thank me for my patience. They all remember my name, and on my days off they ask for me. I love helping people and this job allows me to do that. Even patients that cannot talk, when they see me in the hallway, they extend their hand so I can touch them, with the biggest smilee on their face. My supervisor said that she has never seen that happen before.
