I am seeking a position as a caregiver because in all of the places where I have been employed, I continually gravitate toward assessing and seeking to provide or assist the patient/client with obtaining and maintaining whatever needs that were identified by the client, or by myself. A personal achievement that I am proud of is when I received a "hero award" for doing whatever I could to help clients obtain the care and services they required or that were identified, and doing so with the dignity and respect they so deserve. I have worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years, mainly in clinic set tings in the Women's Health Services Department as an Obstetrical Case Manager. I recently worked one year as a nurse manager in a satellite clinic for special populations, healthcare for the homeless. Prior to this time I also worked as a home health attendant, a medical assistant, a licensed practical nurse, an office associate, and as a stenographer/secretary. I have found that the workplace and the pace of the clinic and the hospital environment and the time and attention that can be allotted to each patient or client I worked with, or the care I observed being rendered by others due to time constraints has been an ongoing internal and external struggle for me.
