I became a senior care giver when a long time family friend became partially paralyzed from an undetected brain aneurysm. Six years later my own mother was diagnosed with dementia. I quit my job to care for my mother at our house until she passed in 2007. I met my now deceased fiancé in 2006 and later in 2008, he suffered from sleep apnea and lung blockage, as he was part of the 911 clean-up in New York City. So, I cared for him until he passed 2010. In 2011, I was asked by another longtime family friend to help care for his mother. I did that, and stayed a part of her family until she passed in 2012.
