I have been in the cna field since 1995 i have always wanted to be in the nursing field since the age of 15 when my father was diagnosed with kidney failure and cancer and was put on hospice where he wanted to live the remaining days of his life at home. My dad didnt want any outside aids or help from any agencies so he just had a nurse come in and over see us in the care od my dad . the ppl who cared for my dad was my mom me and my sister . well my mom took ill after a couple weeks of taking care of my dad and a month later my sister had passed suddenly at the age of 30 from a massive heart attack so it i was left to attend to my dad going to school and rushing home to my dad was my day outside activites wasnt my concern just tending to my mom and dad made my day just knowing i could make a difference made me feel warm inside . and knowing that i was appreciated at a young age was all i needed so i continued on with this field at the age of 18 i went to school and got my cna certifacte and i also went back for my medical assistant and also got my dementia certificate as well . you have to love what you do to be im this field and i have loved it all my life.
