About Ladonnia

I am a very outgoing, happy, friendly person. I love to hear stories , do puzzles and play games. I have a lot of patience and understanding and can follow orders but be compassionate about it. I help them with whatever they need, and if they don't ,I'm still there. IE: They start m,along the bed or doing laundry .I ask only there to help them and as long as they can do something for them selves it makes them feel good to do it or at last help you. I just love helping people and making their life easier when its no longer easier for them. I like to run errand and help them when they need it and if they don't I'm still gonna be there for when they do .The little things make a big difference. I have experience in dementia and COPD and know when you lose your memory or start to its really hard and people need to understand when their parents get upset its rarely at them personally, they are upset with themselves bacaouse they cant remember and its frustrating for them and sometimes they come across as being mad, they are not. I am proud of the memory wall and how it has helped so many people and helps them remember or just think they do.

I took care of his mom at Good Samaritan Village .She had dementia .was a very sweet lady, always smiling and laughing, had some bad days but not much. I made sure she ate right and exercised, we walked about 2 miles a day and did exercises everyday . She helped me do laundry clean the apartment and we had activities we did and I took her on outings to see things and out to lunch. I bathed and she dressed herself when she could which was a majority of the time. I helped her with her meds and we also played with other residents in the nursing homes. I took her to her appointments where her son met me there every time so he always knew what was going on and very involved with his mom. I sometimes worked weekends and took her to church , how she loved that.
