Hi, my name is Monica. I am originally from Oregon but after my high school graduation I went to Idaho on a full ride scholarship to Boise Bible College where I studied Intercultural Studies. I am now pursuing my Nursing degree so that one day I may become a medical missionary. My husband and I just moved to New Mexico to slow down and work hard toward our future. I decided to become a caregiver because my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's a few years back but with much help from caregivers he was able to live out his last years in his home with my grandmother at his side. I have worked with geriatric, bariatric, dementia, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's patients. I have mostly worked in rehab and long term facilities but doing so has taught me many skills.
