Hello & good day everyone! I'm Brittany, a mother of 2 beautiful boys, step-mom to 2 other beauties, and an army wife of 4 years. I have been in the nursing field for over a year and enjoy it very much so. I am a honest, open, trustworthy, kind hearted, selfless person. I enjoy helping others and doing what I can to make someone else's day better. I got into healthcare to know how to take care of my children and family if for any reason anything should go wrong, along with anyone else that I may encounter or come across. I enjoy helping others and making their day better, one person at a time!!
I am a grandmother in my 50's interested in a care/ companion position for an elder female lady. I have been a sitter in hospice with my father and also stayed with three elder ladies for their family members as past experience. I am able to cook to their request and do laundry, vaccum, dust..help bathe and dress, or whatever they need. I also will be looking forward to talking to the client and learning about them and their interests. I live in Eastover, NC but the website would not give me the address with my zipcode. I would like to find a client near me. I am interested in baking, crochet, reading, pets, and learning card games as well.
I was working in a nursing home and I felt some people feel better with one on one care, and being home They can get that. I love be able to help with everyday needs, and learning more about elders life. Two years ago I took over my family business and started taking care of more people. I have been doing private nursing for 25 years, and really enjoy it,I cant see me doing anything else.
I am a good caregiver because I am a great listener, trustworthy, and helpful. I wanted to become a caregiver because recently my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer and before I moved to North Carolina a lot of my time I would spend taking care of her. I saw the joy I brought her by just sitting with her, listening to her stories from when she was younger, playing games, watching movies, and just being there for her. When I left I wanted to bring the same joy to others and find a way to give back to my community. I enjoy making my grandmother feel she was important again and I'm sure if I become a caregiver it will feel just as enriching to make others feel just as important too. I'm proud to say before I moved to North Carolina that I was invited out of 2800 students to be in a national honer society at the University of Texas at El Paso

I will work hard and you will not be disappointed. Sincerely; Patricia Smith
Working with the elderly for the past 15 yeas in the Health Care Industry I find they hold a world of information through their life`s experiences. I enjoy their company and the ability to make them smile and laugh gives me great personal enjoyment. The ability to provide care is something I hope in the future if needed will come from someone with a caring heart. I am 48 years old and just relocated from Baltimore, MD working for HCR Manor Care ( Activity Assistant) to Fayetteville, NC with the promise of a Activity Assistant job that was filled before I completed my relocation move.
I found my passion when I decided to be a caregiver. It is a rewarding and unique experience. I make a fantastic caregiver because I am passionate and caring! I am passionate about providing the highest quality of care to the specific individual I have the pleasure to assist. It's incredibly gratifying to help another person in so many ways and make their days more comfortable and enjoyable. As a former massage therapist, I would like to offer regular massage and therapeutic treatments, as well as, assistance in rehabilitation and physical therapies too. I am a reliable customer service professional providing superior quality with a personable and responsible dedication. And I am accomplished at going above and beyond to provide unmatched standards of service.
I love the elderly. I have been in love with classic movies since I was a teen. Edward G Robinson, Joan Crawford, Barbara Stanwyck just to name a few are my favorite actors. These people lived in that era and they possess a wealth of wisdom. I love listening to them and worked as a certified nursing asst. in a day program for Alzheimer and dementia patients for 4 years.. I left being a care giver for quite some time and ran a successful daycare which was featured on a program called the visionaries on PBS and seen all over the world. I won the home based small business administration award and was asked to say a speech and introduce Hillary Clinton. I recently moved to North Carolina Fort Bragg area after briefly working at the Arturo Shromberg senior citizens center in the Bronx NY. I really made some wonderful connections with the people there. I truly believe that the love and kindness I feel toward the elderly is a direct extension of the love I had for my own mom whom I lost a short while ago and that someday I will reap that kindness when I myself reach my golden years. I want to leave some good memories in the hearts of those I care for! I am thankful for those years I had helping to train the next generation and have just completed my training for my hha certificate to prepare me once again to work with the elderly. I am just a few credits from completing my associates degree in accounting and then I hope to go on for my bachelor's degree.

What makes me a good caregiver is my personality and my work ethic. I am likely to find things to do to keep myself busy and keep my client busy with things they are able to do. I have worked with people with all ranges of abilities and I can easily adapt to new situations. I tend to find the silver lining in situations and my clients like that I am just an overall happy person. I know when to encourage and when to back off as to not exhaust my clients when they are trying to complete an activity. I like having open communication with family members so they can stay up to date on their loved one's progress.
