I am honest, dependable, and I am one who loves her job. I became a caregiver after caring for my grandfather who had recovered from cancer, had Alzheimer and tragicaly had pass within a 2yr span after having a fall and not completely recovered. The love and comfort in just the care and knowing that I can make a difference. I love everything about being a caregiver. Learning new people, being able to care for them, spreading comfort in people's lives when they may feel like they are alone. I love to be able to help out family members in being able to get away knowing their loved ones are in good hands. After over 10+ years in this profession, I can say, I always learn something new , which is so awesome me. Its always space for learning new things so I can be a better caregiver to my clients. Now, over the years i would have to say my greatest accomplishment in doing this type of work, is learning patience. Not the, "ok let's put a fake smile on my face untill shift is over" kind of patience but the real " I know where this attitude is coming from and it's really ok " kind of patience.

The reason why I wanted to be a caregiver is because when I was a little girl; there was an elderly lady that lived down the street from me who had know one to help her at all. I would go sit with her and run errands for her just because that's what God wanted me to do, and I enjoyed it. I knew one day that I would do the same for others, who just needed a helping hand. I truly enjoy helping others and being a part of a support system for them as well. Now, on the other hand I take pride in what I do and I treat my clients like family; not like just another paycheck to collect. I'm honest and hard working, very diligent in providing the proper care that's needed. Also, being reliable is something I take very seriously because that person is counting on me to be there on time.
