I decided to become a caregiver when my aunt fell ill when I was 13 years old.It brought pain to my heart to watch her struggle to do day to day simple activities. So I started taking days off from school just to watch her and help out.I was giving her her daily injections, testing her diabetes, dressing her amputed leg with bandages, ointments and other stuff that were given to her by the clinic. What I like about caregiving is that it gives you a chance to give physical and maybe sometimes emotional support to someone ill..all of the above mention that I find joy in giving! A personal achievement that I' m most proud of is that I had the chance to give aid to my aunt before she passed away..even though her passing brought great pain to my heart...her being ill made me realize just how much I wanted to be a caregiver. I am a proud big sister, only daughter, loving granddaughter and a humble individual.I love the simple things that this life has to offer and I am humbleby each and every experience.God, my family and my job always comes first.I go to church on weekends when possible and I absolutely love being a caregiver. ... more
