My mom was the first person that told me to become a Home Health Aide. She saw that I was a very caring, responsible and reliable person. When I first started working as an aide I realize that I really liked taken care of my patient. Right out the gate I realize this when my teacher took us to a nursing home to do our in service. I had the privilege to work with an elderly woman for eight hours. We talked all day about her family and I help her with her bath. The feeling that I had at the end of the day was so wonderful. I was so excited to start working with the elderly because I knew I could help them even if was just to talk with them I would be a good listener.
