I have been a caregiver for many years. I have worked in hospice care, home health care and more recently I currently work in the hospital. I work on a medical-surgical floor taking care of patients with neurological, orthopedic, traumatic and medical needs. I love taking care of others and I am currently in school for nursing to advance my career in the medical field. Growing up I have taken care of family members and I loved it. I decided to do it as a profession after I took care of my mom who at the time was diagnosed with stage 4 nonhodgkins lymphoma. I realized I had good natural instincts and I'm passionate about people and patient care. I have been on both sides. I have provided care and needed care which makes me unique, I feel in my compassionate approach. In 2016 when I was pregnant with my daughter due to an allergic reaction to medication I suffered a brain bleed and blood clot that caused a stroke, seizures and even paralysis of my left side. I have since been 100% cleared and able to take care of my family and others. I couldnt see myself doing anything else but being a caregiver and even though I am in nursing school my ultimate goal is to teach others to be great caregivers
